2008 Summer Calendar
Advanced Adventures (4th – 6th grade)

Children going out of 6th grade are welcome to attend Advanced Adventures.

Cost:

$398 per week for one session.

Discounts: After the initial week all subsequent weeks will receive a $15 multi session discount.
$10 off per week for siblings.

Hours:
9 AM – 5 PM

Extended care is available from 8-9 AM and from 5-6 PM for $10 per hour.

Drop-off and Pick-up: At Mother’s Meadow Playground in Golden Gate Park on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd near 19th Avenue. As you enter the park at 19th Avenue, immediately after the gates it becomes Crossover Way. Take the first right turn and you will see the playground.

Dates:  Advanced Adventures is available for Session 8 (August 11-15) and session 9 (August 18-22).  If your child is entering fourth grade and Advanced Adventures is not available for the weeks you would like, Core Camp is available for your child. Children finishing 6th grade are welcome to attend Advanced Adventures.

SESSION 8

Mon, August 11
Serra Bowl and then on to Pacifica to explore a salt marsh and the beach. Bring a bathing suit and towel.
Tues, August 12

Chinatown-gift shops, fortune cookie factory, herbalists, temples.  Children may bring money to buy lunch and souvenirs.

Wed, August 13

A terrific Gulf of the Farallones program on the ecology of San Francisco Bay.  Fun, hands-on education.

Thurs, August 14

Kayak with Seatrek, overnight camp-out at China Camp State Park.

Friday, August 15

Explore China Camp State Park.

SESSION 9

Mon, August 18
Fishermen’s Wharf to visit Ghiradelli for a free chocolate sample, check out the free entertainment and visit the sea lions at Pier 39. Kids can bring money to spend on souvenirs and rides.
Tues, August 19

At The Legion of Honor Museum we view great European Art and create some artwork of our own.  Then we take the glorious Land's End trail to Ft. Miley, a hidden San Francisco treasure.  Bring a container for blackberries.

Wed, August 20

Zeum, art and technology tools that empower the imagination to create a clay animation, make a music video, compose a soundtrack, or experiment with digital art.  Kids can bring money for souvenirs.

Thurs, August 21

Santa Cruz Board Walk.  Campout at New Brighton State Beach near Santa Cruz.

Friday, August 22

Play on the beach in Santa Cruz.
